Emmy Award winner Sylvia Caminer immediately jumped at the chance to direct and co-produce WITHOUT HATE because she knew that the passionate, funny, topical, gripping, controversial and powerful script could realistically translate into one of the most important films of the year.

Sylvia’s extensive credits as director and producer of theatre, film, and television go back two decades.  As owner and president of Dolger Films, based in Florida and New York, Sylvia has worked all over the world from  Hawaii, to Europe to India to Africa to South America and back again to the United States.

As a producer, Sylvia had two feature films released in 2009, and has two more set to open this year.  LOVE ‘N DANCING,  directed by Robert Iscove, opened in May of 2009 and starred Amy Smart, Tom Malloy, Billy Zane, Rachel Dratch, Caroline Rhea and Betty White.  ORDER OF REDEMPTION, that was released by Lion’s Gate this past fall and was directed by Jeff Celentano, stars Tom Berenger, Busta Rhymes and Armand Assante.  DOORMAN, starring Jackie Long, Zulay Henao and Gary Dourdan, and directed by Stephen Leeds,  nd AFTERMATH starring Anthony Michael Hall, Chris Penn, Frank Whaley, Federico Castellucio, Jamie Harrold, Leo Burmester, Lily Rabe and Tony Danza, and directed by Thomas Faron, are both slated for 2010 releases..

Sylvia produced the critically acclaimed feature romantic fable, BLUE MOON, starring screen legends Ben Gazzara and Rita Moreno and directed by John Gallagher. She previously teamed with Gallgher on the popular cult comedy THE DELI, that featured Mike Starr, Matt Keeslar, Gretchen Mol, Ice T, Chris Noth, Tony Sirrico, Frank Vincent, Vincent Pastore, Heather Matarazzo, Debi Mazar, Michael Imperioli and Iman, and MEN LIE, that starred Frank Vincent, Victor Argo, Aida Turturro, Nicholas Turturro, David Faustino, Michael Imperioli, and Catherine Scorsese..

For television, Sylvia won the Emmy Award for directing the popular Discovery and Travel Channel program, GREAT HOTELS, which she also produced and co-wrote.. She  earned an additional Emmy nomination for directing PASSPORT TO EUROPE for the Discovery and Travel Channel. She produced and directed PASSPORT TO LATIN AMERICA, and the PBS program, ANIMAL ATTRACTIONS.  She is also the series producer and director for a new travel adventure show, 37 MILLION MINUTES.

Sylvia’s other producing credits include MIXING NIA, directed by Alison Swan and starring Karyn Parsons, Isaiah Washington, and Eric Thal,  and THE ANIMAL ROOM, starring Matthew Lillard, Amanda Peet, Catherine Hicks and Neil Patrick Harris and directed by Craig Singer.

Sylvia’s close working relationships with A-list talent, has led her to become an in-demand fixture at international film festivals as well as a guest lecturer at New York’s School of Visual Arts, Shetler Studios, and most often  The Neighborhood Playhouse School of the Theatre.  More commonly known as The House That Meisner Built, the Neighborhood Playhouse is internationally acknowledged as one of the top theatrical acting conservatories in the world.

Sylvia is currently wrapping up three feature documentaries that she directed and produced.  The passionate and intriguing TANZANIA: A FRIENDSHIP JOURNEY completed principal photography in Tanzania Africa in 2009.  AN AFFAIR OF THE HEART follows the travels of rock and roll icon, Rick Springfield,  ANGELS AMONG US is a long-term project that had sequences in Florida, New York, Los Angeles and the Czech Republic. She is also attached as producer on CHICKADEE,  a feature film starring Chris Cooper and Julie Kavner.
